1010 - Hide and God Seek!

Ever wonder where God is?

Not to brag, but I found God.

Before getting to the exact location - most people think the answer is heaven - consider this…

There’s a lot of talk about finding God or seeking God or searching for God.

Sometimes, we share that we are pursuing God.

In fact, I saw a church sign this week that had that as one of its core tenets, “We exist to pursue God.” Like the Divine is on the run. Waving from behind corners or trees, “Come and get me!” Then we when chug ourselves over… nothing.

This game of hide and God seek is exhausting. Source is waaaaay out there… somewhere.

Some version of that story has been told so many times through so many centuries that it simply must be correct. It sounds right—except there is a four-letter word that keeps creating a problem.

A four-letter word that we use all the time. A four-letter word that Christ uses. A four-letter word that God uses. A four-letter word that Spirit uses.

A four-letter word that closes the distance.

A four-letter word that bridges the gap.

A four-letter word that brings heaven near.

The four-letter word…

WITH

“I am with you always,” Jesus. (Matthew 28:20)

“The Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

With is a word of companionship and union.

If that wasn’t enough, there’s an inviting tiny two-letter word that brings everything even closer.

A tiny two-letter word that promises intimacy.

A tiny two-letter word that delivers connection.

A tiny two-letter word that creates consciousness.

The tiny two-letter word…

IN

“The Spirit lives in you.” (Romans 8)

“The mind of Christ is in you.” (I Corinthians 2:16)

God is with us.

God is in us.

Can God get any closer?

God is not far. Christ is not far. Spirit is not far. They are with. They are in. They are within. YOU.

One final passage to meditate on…

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)

Where is your heart? With. In.

Spend time within today. Speaking with Spirit. Connecting with Christ. Conversing with Creation.

As we go into this new week and prepare for work or other activities, let's remember that God is always with and in us.

How can we invite the Spirit to participate with each activity?

How can we reveal Light in our work?

How can we Love ourselves and others through each action?

Blessings!

Paul
